Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Lan

Assoc.Prof. Thi-Lan Le obtained Bachelor of Information Technology and Master of Science degree in Signal Processing in 2003 and 2005 from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam, respectively. In 2009, she obtained PhD degree in Computer Vision from INRIA Sophia Antipolis, France. She is currently head of Computer Vision Department, International Research Institute MICA, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Her research interests include content-based image/video, image and video analysis and human-robot interaction. She has participated a number of national and international projects in video analysis and surveillance. Currently, she is co-leader of the Nafosted FWO project “Geometric scene analysis as a navigational aid to the visually impaired” with Ghent University, Belgium working on developing assistive aids for visually-impaired people using 3D data. She has published more than 60 papers on international journal and conferences. She is a committee member of research programme on ambient computing of HUST, board member of VAPR (Vietnamese Association on Pattern Recognition) and member of editorial board of IET Computer Vision journal.
