Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong

Assoc. Professor Cuong Pham got a B.S degree in Information Technology in 1998 at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; a Master of Science in Computer Science in 2005 at New Mexico State University, USA; and a PhD in Computer Science at Newcastle University, UK in 2012, respectively. At present, he heads the department of Information systems at Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology. His main research interests include machine learning for IoT applications; ubiquitous and wearable computing, machine learning for assistive healthcare, and human computer interaction (especially natural interactions between tiny computers and human). He has been a PI, co-PI, core researcher for several international and domestic research projects, including the Ambient kitchen (https://openlab.ncl.ac.uk/things/ambient-kitchen/); FP7 Marie Curie Balance@Home (https://openlab.ncl.ac.uk/projects/complete-projects/balanceathome/); Smart shoes for unobtrusive human activity recognition; Smart wearable devices for assistive respiration symptoms monitoring etc… He was a Research Assistant at Jornada Experimental Range, the United State Department of Agriculture; Research Associate at Open Lab, Newcastle University, UK; Marie Curie Research Fellow at Philips Research, the Netherlands, and Visisting Professor at University of Palermo, Italy.
